Podcast: Sexual Violence against Women Soldiers

Investigative documentary, ‘The Invisible War’, was screened last Thursday which exposes the extent of sex crimes in the US Military.
Sohan Judge reports.
In 2005, US Army Private LaVena Johnson committed suicide as a result of being a victim of sexual violence. The autopsy confirmed that Johnson suffered wounds from suicide which include chemical burns that were likely to be used as an attempt to destroy DNA evidence of rape.
Sexual violence within the military is a huge issue and is on the rise. In 2010 there were 3,158 total reports of sex crimes in the US Army.
The issues swept under the rug, the stories that don't get told. We aim to bring to the surface the things that are on everybody's mind but left unspoken.
